Dealing With Damage This Spring

May 22, 2022

Water levels are reaching record highs. That makes your first weekend of repair and safety checks even more vital. Here are a few tips to help prospective homebuilder prepare for the worst!

Winters in the Canadian Shield are no joke. Warped, damaged or destroyed post thaw are all too common.

With a solidly constructed boat house, most of those concerns will be washed away.  A solid concrete or steel foundation will be too strong for most weather to create any major, lasting damage. As a bonus, any boathouse with lifts means you can protect your boats without having to pay for winter storage!

Similarly, most docking solutions are designed with winter flexibility in mind. Docks that are either on rails or are full detachable mean that ice can’t use the dock’s rigidity against it to bend or snap them.

If you find any problems on your waterfront this May that can’t be fixed with a couple two-by-fours, it might be time to invest in some more modern solutions to save on time, money, and your own sanity!
